Soybean wax is a kind of vegetable wax, pure natural extraction method, environmentally friendly and safe. It is physically refined into a solid substance, and only a very small amount of smoke and dust is evaporated when burning, which is clean and hygienic. As a high-quality scent carrier, soybean wax is the first choice for high-end scented candles.
To make your own scented candles, you need to prepare the following materials:
1. Soy wax, essential oil, candle wick, candle wick glue, wax cup
2. Wax melting bowl, wax melting furnace, temperature measuring gun, electronic scale, stirring spoon

Soybean wax is a vegetable wax refined from soybeans. It is natural and environmentally friendly and is harmless to the human body. It is the most commonly used wax material for making aromatherapy cup wax. Most of the aromatherapy candles on the market are made of soybean wax.
When buying soybean wax, you can choose domestic soybean wax or imported soybean wax. Domestic soybean wax is more cost-effective, while imported soybean wax can hold more essential oils and is more difficult to take off the cup.
Fragrance essential oils need to buy special fragrance oil for candles. Oil-soluble essential oils have a flash point between 80-120 degrees, which is safe and stable. Do not use pure plant essential oils, the flash point is too low, and the volatilization has been completed during production, and the candles made will have no smell.
Wax cups can be purchased, or you can use previously burned candle jars, used cream jars, or other idle bottles and jars, and heat-resistant materials such as glass, pottery, and iron can be used.
Steps to make scented candles
01. Weigh out the required gram weight of soybean wax and essential oil in the container:
02. Pour clean water into the container, and then weigh the net weight of the water (the tare weight after the container is filled with water), × 0.83, which is the weight of the finished candle.
03. This weight includes soybean wax and essential oil. Next, according to their proportional relationship, calculate how much each is needed. Domestic soybean wax: essential oil = 19:1, imported soybean wax: essential oil = 9:1

02 Heat soy wax
Place the measured amount of soy wax in a wax melting bowl and heat it in a wax melting furnace until it is completely melted into a liquid.
Heat-resistant containers such as wax melting bowls, beakers, stainless steel bowls, and wax melting furnaces can be replaced by induction cookers. When using high-power electrical appliances for heating, be careful not to let the temperature of the wax liquid be higher than 100 degrees (the way of heating by water).

03 Add fragrance oil
When the wax liquid is cooled to about 65 degrees, add the weighed essential oil and stir evenly (the temperature must be lower than the flash point of the essential oil to prevent the essential oil from volatilizing during the production process).

04 Fixed candle wick
Paste the candle wick glue on the candle wick base, fix the base at the bottom of the container, and fix the cotton thread with a fixer (replaceable with disposable chopsticks), so that the candle wick is always in the middle of the container.

05 Filling
When the wax liquid with fragrance essential oil is cooled to about 55 degrees, slowly pour the wax liquid into the wax cup and wait for the wax liquid to cool and solidify completely.

06 Closing
After the wax liquid is completely solidified, trim the length of the wick and keep about 1cm.

Label it, and a jar of scented candles is ready.

To make a jar of scented candles, the only materials that must be purchased are soybean wax, essential oil, wick and wick glue, which is very convenient.
