How to make bath bombs?
Apr 10, 2023
Have you ever wondered how those colorful, fragrant bath bombs are made? Well, wonder no more! In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps to make your very own bath bombs.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- 1/2 cup Epsom salt
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 3-4 tablespoons oil (coconut, olive, or any other of your preference)
- 1 teaspoon water
- 10-15 drops essential oil (for scent)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Bath bomb molds (can also use plastic Easter eggs or other similar containers)
Step 1: Combine dry ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salt, and cornstarch. Whisk them all together until they are evenly distributed.
Step 2: Add oil and scent
Next, add the oil, essential oil, and food coloring (if using) to the dry mixture. Mix well until the color and scent are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
Step 3: Add water
Very slowly, a few drops at a time, add the water to the dry mixture. Be careful not to add too much water at once, or the mixture will start to fizz and lose its fizzing ability in the bath. Once you’ve added enough water, the mixture should stick together when you press it with your fingers.
Step 4: Mold the mixture
Pack the mixture into the bath bomb molds or other containers you’ve chosen. Press the mixture in tightly to ensure that it sticks together and holds its shape.
Step 5: Let them dry
Allow the bath bombs to dry in the molds for at least 24 hours. Carefully remove them from the molds and store them in an airtight container until you’re ready to use them.
That’s it! You’ve now made your very own bath bombs. Drop one into a warm bath and watch as it fizzes and releases fragrant, skin-nourishing ingredients. Enjoy!
