Making scented candles is a great way to add a lovely fragrance to your home while also adding a touch of personalization to your home decor. You can make scented candles with a variety of fragrances to suit your taste, including fruity, floral, or spicy scents. In this blog, we’ll explore the steps to make a scented candle.

Materials Required

- Wax
- Candle Fragrance Oil
- Candle Wicks
- Thermometer
- Candle Container
- Double Boiler
- Spoon
- Scissors

Instructions

1. Melt the Wax: Place the wax in a double boiler and melt it on low heat. Stir the wax occasionally with the spoon to ensure it melts evenly. Make sure not to overheat the wax as it can burn.

2. Prepare the Candle Container: While the wax is melting, prepare the candle container by placing the candle wick in the center of the container. Secure the wick in place using a wick holder or any other material you have to hold it in place.

3. Add Fragrance Oil: Once the wax has melted, remove it from heat and add the fragrance oil. Be sure to follow the fragrance oil’s recommended usage, for example, adding 1 ounce of fragrance oil for 1 pound of wax. Stir well to ensure that the fragrance oil is evenly distributed throughout the wax.

4. Pour the Wax: Allow the wax to cool to around 140°F before pouring it into the container. Pour the wax carefully into the container, making sure not to disturb the wick. Leave around ½ inch (1.27 cm) of space at the top of the container.

5. Set the Wick: Once the wax has cooled to room temperature, remove the wick holder and trim the wick to about ¼ inch (0.635 cm). Then, set the wick in place by gently pressing it into the wax.

6. Let the Wax Cure: Allow the candle to cure for 24 to 48 hours before burning it. After the cure time has passed, your scented candle is ready to use.
